Job Description

About LEVICK Business Intelligence: LEVICK Business Intelligence specializes in sensitive and complex due diligence, political risk, and litigation support investigations. LEVICK Business Intelligence is uniquely situated inside a renowned crisis communications firm, and operates independently of, and in conjunction with, the varied LEVICK communications practices. We conduct in-depth investigations into a wide variety of domestic and international issues and concerns, and we regularly provide guidance to clients facing reputational issues, litigation, accusations of corruption and bribery (to include Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters), and much more.

About the Fellowship: A LEVICK Business Intelligence Fellow plays an integral role in contributing to the team’s efforts. The Fellow conducts extensive Internet and media database research regarding companies and individuals, and all of this research becomes part of the practice’s larger investigative products. Additionally, the Fellow will perform research in support of new business opportunities for the practice and for the firm as a whole. 

The Fellow is expected to demonstrate an interest in, and comprehension of, various national and global issues. The ideal candidate will have experience conducting research, analyzing findings, and diluting large amounts of information into short, digestible reports. Most importantly, a Fellow must have the ability to think critically and craft clear, concise, and logical briefs. The Fellow should have excellent written and oral communications skills, keen attention to detail, strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the discretion to keep sensitive information confidential.

The Fellow will also be required to provide administrative support to the Business Intelligence team as well as the office as a whole. This includes, but is not limited to: reception desk coverage, running office errands, sorting and distribution of mail, re-stocking office supplies, and general office organization, as well as setting up catering for meetings and events, and then cleaning up after those meeting and events. 

Requirements 

·       A demonstrable interest in and knowledge of domestic and global affairs

·       An ability to prioritize several projects and assignments on multiples topics while on tight deadlines

·       Must be a self-starter who is comfortable in a fast-paced environment in which multi-tasking is the norm

·       Must be able to transition easily from working as a team player to working independently

·       Must be someone who strives for excellence, with a desire to grow and learn from the experience of the Fellowship

·       B.A. in Political Science, International Relations, Regional Studies, or other related areas of study is desired, but is not a requirement

·       Ability and willingness to work a regular 40.00 week

Designer

Designer

A LEVICK Designer is a self-starter who can thrive in a fast-paced, exciting environment. The ideal candidate has 1-3 years’ worth of experience and can demonstrate a clear understanding of, and proficiency in, print and interactive design. The Designer is responsible for conceptualizing and designing a variety of marketing pieces ranging from print advertising, brochures, newsletters to website graphics; developing and executing the firm’s branding strategy through design; overseeing the translation of print graphics to the website. This position requires a detail-oriented person who has the ability to gather raw data from various sources, including in person, e-mail, briefings, meetings, and phone calls. We are looking for someone who wants to excel at what they do and can go beyond the directions they are given. 

Requirements 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field 
  • 1 - 3 years' experience in a digital environment ideally in communications, consulting, business development or strategy
  • A portfolio demonstrating successful digital and print work
  • Possess a strong understanding of user-centered design priniciples, excellent visual design skills and solid technical know-how
  • Demonstrated experience with a wide variety of print projects from concept through production
  • Experience with interactive projects and an understanding of UX and UI design 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign in particular), strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and expertise with Mac OS X
  • Knowledge of basic typography and color theory 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with quick turn arouns
  • Be a problem-solver with the ability to multi-task and work effectively under deadlines
  • Interest of experience designing for a PR firm a plus

Internship

Job Description

A LEVICK Intern plays a key role in contributing to their team’s efforts. The Intern is expected to actively participate in group discussions and the digital engagement efforts of clients in all of the firm’s practice groups. The Intern demonstrates interest in communications and an understanding of basic media relations tactics. Our best candidate has experience pitching reporters, conducting media and internet research, implementing social media tactics, tracking and analyzing web and social analytics as part of a larger digital and traditional campaign strategy.

This internship is viewed by LEVICK as being an educational opportunity for the Intern. The internship will include training/orientation and focus primarily on learning and developing new skills and gaining a deeper understanding of concepts through hands-on application. This position is unpaid and contingent upon providing documentation verifying course credit from a university. Completion of the internship does not in any way imply permanent employment.

Business Development Director

Job Description

The Business Development Director will fulfil a range of tasks, including but not limited to: managing inbound leads (ensuring fair allocation of opportunities); proposal editing and writing where applicable; ensuring projects are properly scoped and budgeted; managing accountabilities and the pipeline; supporting accounting with timely data; and maintaining Salesforce.

While Practice Group Chairs(PGCs) are responsible for business development, the Director will work hand-in-hand with them to ensure they create and execute their own business plans, provide support when needed and are held accountable. The Director is also the CEO’s point of contact when new business opportunities arise and serves as the key communicator.

The Director will be involved in the creation and launch of each and every client team. Going forward, the Director will work with PGCs to assess opportunities to expand current client relationships by cross-selling additional services.

Requirements 
Responsibilities
  • Identify a checklist for “green-lighting” a new business opportunity (e.g., do we have case studies, do we have references, do we have experience, is there budget?)
  • Identify a source (or sources) for RFPs and work with PGCs and the COO to determine if the RFP merits a response.
  • Identify third-party partners that may serve as business generators (i.e., litigation firms, web development companies, etc.) as it relates to the agency’s business objectives and larger growth strategies.
  • With each proposal/lead, coordinate staffing with PGCs and profitability with the COO.
  • Work with each PGL to create an annual practice group development plan, to include, but not limited to: setting practice group business goals, identifying targets to meet said goals, growing organic business strategically and marketing the practice group.
  • Drive strategy and internal cross-selling among practice groups.
  • Manage the Salesforce platform and new business reporting, ensuring all new business leads and interactions are reported; work with PGLs to ensure they are reporting on a timely basis
  • Work with the COO and accounting to track and forecast talent utilization and expenses as it relates to pending new business to make sure time and expertise are available to meet client needs created by successful proposals. 
  • Hold quarterly business development training sessions with employees; sessions could include, but are not limited to, “perfecting the pitch;” sales and targeting strategy; scoping and budgeting process; project management tools. 
  • Support existing business development programs and initiatives and align them with the broader business development strategy.
  • Monitor competitor activity/presence in the market place.
    • Present findings to the PGCs quarterly. 
Proposal/Pitch Process
  • Develop and implement a systematic, firm-wide approach to the creation of all LEVICK proposals for service. 
  • Develop a brainstorm brief and hold, where applicable, brainstorms to ensure the proper strategy goes into the response/solution.
  • Coordinate a response timeline and work directly with PGCs and SVPs to ensure it fits into individual workflows.
  • Coordinate staffing, scoping and profitability; ensure proper sign-off from each PGC for budget and timeline for any proposed work.
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio of proposals, bios, references, and case studies.
    • Oversee the customization of language for each proposal, including the writing of proposals, as necessary.
  • Maintain the library of LEVICK proposals (both online and hard copies). 
  • Manage and track all proposals to prospective engagements.
  • Manage the win/loss record and reports back to PGCs.
  • Holds post-mortems when proposals/opportunities are lost in order to capture “lessons learned.”
Client Service and Organic Growth
  • Ensure that each project kicks off with the proper team in place and that there is an internal “kick-off” meeting with all team members and that roles and responsibilities are defined.
  • Hold quarterly account reviews with PGCs and clients to see how LEVICK is performing, where adjustments may be needed, and where additional capabilities can be introduced.
  • Ensure existing clients and potential clients receive the “Executive” touch where appropriate from CEO, COO or PGCs at least quarterly
Marketing
  • Identify business development opportunities in the marketplace and coordinate LEVICK’s consideration and pursuit of those opportunities.
  • Coordinate marketing resources and ensure the accuracy of external facing materials.
