Bruce Hennes brings a unique blend of crisis communications, public affairs, community relations, and litigation communications expertise to his partnership with Levick Strategic Communications. As managing partner of Hennes Paynter Communications, he focuses on crisis communications and also provides media training and litigation communications, The firm serves clients regionally and nationally, including high-profile names in business, government, education, and the nonprofit world.
A 37-year resident of Cleveland, Ohio and a community leader, Mr. Hennes is past chairman of the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s (the largest chamber of commerce in the U.S.) Public Affairs Committee and The Cleveland Jewish News. He currently serves on the boards of the Cleveland Leadership Center and The Judicial Candidates Rating Coalition (Judge4Yourself.com). He was one of the founding board members of the FBI Citizens Academy Foundation of Cleveland.
He is a Graduate Lecturer in Advanced Communications/Media Relations at the Levin College of Urban Affairs of Cleveland State University and a frequent guest lecturer at John Carroll University, Kent State University, Case Western Reserve University, and Ursuline College. Mr. Hennes teaches Continuing Legal Education classes on “Managing the Media” for bar associations and law firm practice groups.
In the public sector, Mr. Hennes has developed and implemented winning communications strategies for The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District. His private sector roster of high-profile clients includes Lubrizol, John Carroll University, Evonik/Degussa Chemicals, KeyBank, Westfield Insurance (Farmer’s Insurance), MetroHealth Hospital, Case Western Reserve University, and The Greater Cleveland Partnership (Cleveland’s Chamber of Commerce).
An in-demand speaker at trade associations, as well as county emergency management agencies, Mr. Hennes frequently speaks to mayors, police, fire, education and health officials.
